Mid-1950s chic hand printed belted shift dress from the late Master Printer, Alfred Shaheen. The dress has a notched collar, full button front, slim fitting silhouette and thin matching fabric belt. The beautiful traditional Hawaiian floral print is placed in wide borders on the collar, button cuffs, dress front, center back, and hem in shades of aqua, olive green, yellow, and black on the pale green fabric. No one created prettier ethnic prints than Alfred Shaheen, and the colors pop on this poly/rayon fabric. The condition is Excellent, with only a tiny bit of color change inside the collar line, not visible when worn and not an issue, in any case. No stains, fading or wear; no damages. The dress as all of its original Oyster shell buttons on the dress front and cuffs, and its belt is also in fine condition. Tagged a Size 12, fitting measurements: Bust 36", Hip 38", Shoulder 15 1/2"; Sleeve Length 23", and Dress Length 40" (bottom back of neckline to hem edge). A great collectible dress from 'The Master Printer' of Hawaii', perfect for work or church.
